Below you will find information regarding our tryout process for the 2022-2023 Indoor Club season.
For those who may not be aware, last year the Carolina Region made a dramatic change to their tryout process allowing clubs to host tryouts immediately following USAV Nationals, with commitments taking place on or after September 1, 2021. For many reasons, LKN Volleyball Club continues NOT offering early tryouts. We feel strongly that our athletes should have the uninterrupted opportunity to participate in their middle and high school volleyball programs (alongside supplemental private training if they so choose) without having to sacrifice attendance at either club or school practices and games. We also recognize that many of our coaches also coach a high school team and we do not want them to feel the tension or burnout of spreading themselves too thin across two overlapping teams and schedules. In addition, this decision echoes key components of our LKN CARES philosophy that is instilled in both our athletes and our leadership team.
To that end, we will continue to stand behind the Fair Tryout Pledge which states:
“In the spirit of fair play and collaboration with other like-minded clubs in the Carolina Region, we pledge to conduct open and fair tryouts that enable every athlete the opportunity to earn any spot on any team in our club. Stated another way, this means no players are offered spots in our club before our formal tryouts officially begin. Additionally, we pledge to honor the Carolina Region Athlete’s Bill of Rights and will not subject any athlete or their family to coercive, manipulative or other such pressure tactics to secure a commitment. By making this pledge we proudly post the NC Fair Tryout Pledge badge on our website.”
We will announce dates and ages for indoor tryouts on Sept 30th, 2022 based on our registrations. Tryout fees are due at the time of tryouts.
